The Future of Education

Academies, Free Schools, Ofsted reports, Testing, National Curriculum, Examinations

Teachers, parents, pupils and others have concerns about all the above when they think about the current state of our education system. "Education - the future" will be the issue being debated at the October Talking Politics session, organised by David Drew. We are fortunate to have as the Guest Speaker Dr Mary Bousted.

Mary is the General Secretary of Association of Teachers and Lecturers. Previously she taught English in North London comprehensives, then worked in Higher Education at York, Edge Hill and Kingston Universities - working at the latter as Head of the School of Education. She sits on the executive committee of the TUC and is a member of the ACAS Board.

Come and discuss the future of education at the Old Town Hall, the Shambles, Stroud GL5 1AP on 9th October at 7pm - all welcome.
