£11.5 Million New Programme of Council Housing
Councillor Chas Townley
ABOUT CHAS
Stroud Town resident Chas Townley is a Labour District Councillor on Stroud District Council representing Stroud Uplands Ward and is currently chair of the Housing Committee.
Chas previously worked in housing for both councils and housing associations and has managed housing support for vulnerable people in a unitary council. Chas is also a passionate local historian and genealogist. Other interests include real ale and walking.
WORKING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Chas was elected to represent the ward of Stroud – Uplands in May 2015 and previously sat on the Council in the 1990’s, he is also a Stroud Town Councillor. He is passionate about ensuring that the council provides good quality affordable housing. Within Stroud he is an active supporter of efforts to maintain the town as a vibrant and successful town centre. He also supports the protection of public rights of way and is involved in a project to ensure that all unregistered footpaths are officially recorded by 2025 ‘cut off’ date which they could be lost for ever.
