12 Feb 2017
Angela Rayner 2 Research has revealed the full extent of the damage set to be done, both nationally and locally, to our Education system by the end of 2019. Primary schools in the Constituency will lose funding up to the equivalent of 3 teachers’ salaries (Dursley CofE). Secondary Schools that serve the Constituency will be hit even harder, losing up to 12% of their existing budgets. The cuts across the Constituency’s secondary schools are the equivalent of between 7 (Maidenhill) and 13 (Rednock) full-time teachers’ salaries. In terms of per-pupil cuts, the amount spent on an individual pupil’s education will fall by up to £636 per annum (Thomas Keble School). Parents can check the potential negative impact on their own children’s education here: http://www.schoolcuts.org.uk/#/schools.
