Recyling rates are down
Recyling rates are down

From October 26th a number of recycling centres will be closed for one day every week.

We believe this will cause inconvenience to people locally, will lead to increased incidents of fly-tipping as well as pushing recycling rates down. In addition, where Gloucestershire County  Council is introducing these cuts to save money, the ongoing cost of clearing up waste that has been dumped will be passed on to Stroud District Council.

Stroud has always had a good reputation for recycling and environmental sensitivity and we think cynical moves like this will have adverse effects on all of us.
