* BRING BACK AMBERLEY’S LOST BUS SERVICE
Steve ROBINSON and I will work with together to restore transport services to Amberley.
* SUPPORT LOCAL PEOPLE TO HAVE MORE SAY AND CONTROL IN THEIR COMMUNITIES
We will support new initiatives like the Amberley Shop on the Common project and protect existing community assets such as our pubs, sports teams and community groups.
* PROTECT AND ENHANCE OUR BEAUTIFUL LOCAL ENVIRONMENT
We will make sure nature is at the heart of decision-making and work to develop “nature corridors” connecting the vital habitats in our ward.
“Living in Woodchester, attending local schools and the Amberley Scout Group, I feel a deep affinity to our wonderful ward – which we are all so privileged to live in.”
I joined the parish council as I wanted to become more involved in our vibrant community and I have since become the Local Authority Governor at Woodchester Primary School, as well as more recently joining the PTA of Amberley School.
I cherish our beautiful countryside and our unique rural way of life, which I have always sought to protect as the local Trustee for CPRE Gloucestershire (the countryside charity). If elected in May, I would seek to keep the climate and biodiversity crises at the top of the local agenda – I am particularly keen to help preserve our green spaces and enhance them by the creation of ‘nature corridors’. I have already founded an environmental grouping of ecologists and local councillors, Minch CAN, which strives achieve this.
I am committed to making our ward safer, through reducing road speeds, and accessible to all. As the Local Authority Governor for Woodchester Primary School, recently joining the Amberley PTA, I hope to see our young people thrive and I would seek to enhance the opportunities provided for them in our area.
“Having been fortunate enough to have grown up and to still live in our area, I hope I can put the distinctive local voice of our community back into the heart of local government.”
“I was born, raised, and schooled in Nailsworth. I am married with 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. I worked in the family butchery business for over 25 years and have also worked with young people full-time and part-time for over 50 years. I am currently a Town, District, and County Councillor.”
“The reason I became a councillor was that I feel passionate about the area and its residents and I am committed to working for my community to achieve the best possible outcomes.”
