Dr. Simon Opher has been a local GP for 30 years and Chairs the Stroud Locality NHS. In his time as a GP he has first hand experience of how disparities in income affects peoples’ lives. In Stroud, the wealthiest people live, on average, more than nine years longer than the poorest. The solution to this, he says, isn’t medical – it’s political.
Simon Opher made his maiden speech in the House of Commons yesterday – Thursday 5th September 2024. Click to view SN&J report
